The house

Eating
The light-filled kitchen makes the most of the stunning views with double aspect floor-to-ceiling windows, which lead out onto a lovely decking area. There’s a breakfast bar, round table and long dining table, perfect for leisurely meals with the sun streaming in the windows.

Living
There’s plenty of seating to curl up for watching films (we have a great DVD collection!), plus a wood burner for cosy evenings, while three large picture windows make the most of the lovely views. Also upstairs is a single bedroom/office with en suite shower room and toilet. Perfect for anyone for whom stairs are a problem.

Sleeping
Stairs lead down to three bedrooms where you’ll find the comfiest of beds to fall into after a day’s exploring in the fresh air. All the bedrooms are light and airy with country views. Crisp, white linen and minimalist decor promote a calm, blissful night’s sleep.

Bathing
The master bedroom has an en suite and there’s a large family bathroom; both have a shower and bath for long soaks in the evening.

Utilities
There is a handy area to hang coats and leave muddy boots, and a dedicated laundry room where you’ll find a washing machine, dryer and clothes rack.

Outside
There is over an acre of beautiful garden to enjoy, perfect for an alfresco meal or just to sit under the trees by the pond and take in the views of winding country tracks, rolling green hills and the tranquil Camel Valley.

Other things to note – The wifi works well. 4G is excellent, so hotspots also work really well.

Out and about

There’s plenty to do and see in the area, from the beautiful beaches on the north and south coasts, to the hustle and bustle of the picturesque port of Padstow, which are all within easy reach. Rock is your closest beach approximately 20 minutes away and the Polzeath, famous for its surf, is 25 minutes. Take in a leisurely bike ride along the Camel Trail (you can hire bikes in nearby Wadebridge), or visit the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, then retreat to the calm and tranquility of the countryside at the end of your day.

There is also lots to do on your doorstep. The location of the house itself – right in the middle of three woods: Hustyn, Bishop’s and Grogley Wood – mean it’s a great base for mountain-biking and walking. You can also walk or cycle to the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornwall’s largest vineyard which offers tastings and tours or cycle further along the Trail, taking in the lovely country views, to Padstow, where you can take a well-deserved break in one of its many bars or restaurants.
