Ruan Dinas, Coombe (Sleeps 6)

Ruan Dinas, situated on the banks of Cowlands Creek, a tributary of the Fal, is nestled between some picturesque woodland and the tranquil waters of the estuary. It is a perfect spot for kayaking, boating or stand up paddle boarding. Roundwood Quay is literally at the bottom of the garden and smaller children will love the opportunity to go crabbing and the owners have thoughtfully included crab lines as part of their inventory. If you have a larger boat there is even a mooring included. In the winter months there is a superb wood burner to absorb the warmth while watching the ebb and flow of the tide – a perfect way to relax and enjoy your holiday.

Roundwood Quay is a short distance away from Penelewey where the welcoming Punchbowl and Ladle offers excellent food and a convivial atmosphere. A couple of miles away is Loe Beach, a sheltered watersports haven at the top of the Carrick Roads. During the season there is a busy little cafe selling a variety of delicious home cooked meals and a vibrant watersports centre where you can rent boats and kayaks or have lessons to learn the basics. Trelissick Gardens are a 5 minute drive or a nice walk away and from there the tourist hot spots of Falmouth, St Mawes and Truro are all connected via ferry for an enjoyable adventure on the high seas. A short drive inland is the cathedral city of Truro with a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Accommodation

Ground Floor only: There is a large open plan kitchen / diner and living area, all with fantastic estuary views. The kitchen has fully fitted units and modern appliances, the dining area has a beautiful wood table with bench seats and the living room has a wood burning stove and French doors to the garden area. There is a zip and link bedroom with a 6′ bed that can be split into two 3′ singles. A second double bedroom (5′ bed) and a third twin bedroom (3′ beds). There are two bathrooms with showers over the baths, WC and hand basins.

Exterior: There is parking on the drive for at least 2 cars outside the property. There is a large private garden with patio table and chairs, a picnic bench, a charcoal barbecue and a fire pit. There is also a further garden area the other side of the lane to Roundwood Quay, right on the edge of the creek with a decked area that is perfect for crabbing. There is a drying mooring that can be included with your rental.

Facilities & Services

The kitchen has a range of units & work tops. There is an electric oven and hob, a range cooker, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. In the garage, accessed from an internal door is a utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer, there is an iron and ironing board. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a flat screen digital TV & DVD player. There is unlimited WiFi.
