About Penarrow House (sleeps 10), Mylor Harbour, South Cornwall

Penarrow House holiday home occupies one of the finest waterside locations in South Cornwall, located just beyond the picturesque Mylor Harbour. This 5 bedroom home sleeps up to 10 people and offers outstanding views, making it the perfect base to escape. Being directly on the shoreline of the Fal Estuary favoured by the sailing community and enjoying spectacular views, nothing beats relaxing on the front terrace and watching passing boats.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasting direct access to the estuary known as Carrick Roads, Mylor Yacht Harbour is viewed by many as one of Cornwall’s finest marinas and perfect for watersports such as sailing and featured in our post the best places to SUP in Cornwall.

A short stroll from Penarrow House is Café Mylor & Castaways Restaurant & Wine Bar. Boats, kayaks & paddle boards can be hired at Windsport.  Marina berths and moorings can be booked with the Harbour Office. For those who choose to stay on dry land, walk the coastline footpath around Trefussis headland to the waterside village of Flushing via Kiln Beach which is ideal for children.  From here you can cross over to Falmouth on the foot ferry. Alternatively, head along the footpath to Mylor Bridge with a superb village pub, the Lemon Arms, along with a good selection of shops. The famous Pandora Inn featured in our 10 oldest pubs in Cornwall is just a short 2-mile drive, located on the edge of Restronguet Creek, or make your way there by boat.

On entering Penarrow House there is a dining area adjacent to the split-level drawing/TV room, both with open views over the water. A self-contained study is off the hallway for those who wish to work while on holiday.

At the back of the house is the well-equipped kitchen & breakfast room overlooking the rear garden.

From the kitchen extends a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and freezer & a downstairs toilet with wash hand basin. The table tennis room is off the dining end of the kitchen.

A “sunroom” off the rear terrace is ideal for drying wetsuits and sails.  The BBQ is stored there.

Stairs lead to the 5 bedrooms, two doubles & three twins. The Family bathroom has a bath, toilet, bidet & wash hand basin. There is a separate shower room with a toilet & wash hand basin. Large airing cupboard off the generous landing.

Gas central heating throughout the house.

Outside there is ample parking, with lawned gardens to the front and rear of the house. Dinghies can be launched at all states of the tide from the shingle beach, larger sailing dinghies can be stored with Windsport – larger boats can be moored at the marina, both with prior arrangement.
