ST IVES
The New Year’s Eve celebrations that take place in St Ives mean that the town is considered to be one of the top locations to see in the New Year. The streets are closed for traffic around the harbour front, and if the tide is out the party spills out onto the beach. St Ives sees lots of party goers in fancy dress, making the most of the selection of bars and restaurants.
The evening festivities begin at around 8pm each year and last long into the night with fireworks to see in the New Year at midnight. A little tip, don’t drive into St Ives after 6pm as most roads are closed, get there nice and early to enjoy the fun.

With the success of the event last year, Pendennis Castle are putting on a super firework display for New Year’s Eve. The event can be viewed all along Falmouth seafront and will be a spectacular way to say hello to 2020. Why not beforehand enjoy the fantastic restaurants and bars a short walk from the seafront in Falmouth town to start the evening off right. Little tip, the castle is just the launch site so isn’t open to the public, last year we had a great view from right outside the Falmouth Hotel. Lots of the Falmouth hotels are offering wonderful dining options for New Year’s Eve too. One of our favourites is St Michaels Hotel, its perfect location for both the beaches of Falmouth and the bars and restaurants in the town, make this hotel the ideal destination for a New Years in Falmouth.
NEWQUAY
A much-loved tradition, Newquay really comes alive on New Year’s Eve as both the locals and tourists wear fancy dress through the town to celebrate the New Year.
Make sure whatever party or hotel you decide on, make sure you see the New Year in with a bang and head down to Newquay Harbour at midnight to watch the fireworks display, which is sure to make your New Year’s Eve a night to remember.
