We are pretty lucky to have some of the best hotels in the UK, along with their scenery and great locations, some have that extra facility to help you re-connect and relax in a spa. Cornwall has some beauties to choose from with treatments ranging from hot stone massages to full-body mud masques. Here are just a few of our favourite spas in Cornwall.
1. St Michael’s Resort, Falmouth
This stunning Falmouth hotel has had a huge re-vamp of its spa. The new St Michaels Resort spa has the largest hydrothermal pool in Cornwall. The space is beautifully designed, combining distressed wood, copper and sea-blue tiles into a soothing, nautical space.
There’s a huge selection of massages, scrubs, wraps and rhassoul-mud treatments, as well as an outdoor barrel sauna and hot tub, and a well-equipped sports gym. This Spa has a wonderful location right opposite the famous Gyllyngvase Beach.
2. St Moritz Hotel & Spa, Wadebridge
The location of this stunning white Art Deco-inspired hotel, between Rock and Polzeath has made it a favourite with many looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience. This particular stretch of north Cornwall’s coast has been described as Cornwall’s Saint-Tropez.
Now onto the St Moritz Cowshed Spa, its botanical-based products inspired by English gardens, the his and hers massage tables and a range of six bespoke scents tailored specially for your treatment. The style is rustic a blend of bleached wood, stone, ceramic, concrete and chrome, plus a dash of modern furniture and design.
3. The Scarlet Hotel, Mawgan Porth nr Newquay
Everything about the Scarlets Spa feels divine and relaxed, from the lantern-lit, tented treatment rooms, to the infinity pool that feels as if it seems to reach right out into the Atlantic Ocean.
They have a beautiful hammam for steam baths and rhassoul for mud treatments, and outside it gets even better with cedar-clad hot tubs where you overlook the ocean beyond. The Scarlets Spa has wonderful North Coast views to completely switch off the outside world, even if it is just for a day.
4. The Nare Hotel & Spa, The Roseland
Now for something a little different, The Nare Hotel is a classy place which prides itself on the classic Cornish country house. The spa at the Nare goes for tradition al spa treatments rather than the latest fads.
Like its no-nonsense massages, pedicures, manicures and facials, administered in treatment rooms best described as cosy and home like rather than trendy and clinical. There’s also a choice of outdoor and indoor pools. This hotel and Spa really do give you that “old fashioned” pampered feeling.
