One of our very favourite seasonal events, Bonfire night is here so grab your hats, gloves, scarves and coats at the ready and choose from one of our five favourite bonfire night events in Cornwall and make sure that you begin the cold season with a bang!
The Sandsifter, Godrevy, Hayle
Saturday 3rd Nov
This professional and magnificent firework show, which has been running for 2 years, is already talked about as being amongst the best in Cornwall. At Sandsifter bar DJ Quadfish will be doing a family disco from early evening, building to a funkier vibe for those wishing to stay on later. The bar will be serving food from 5pm, with the firework show starting at 7pm. Guests are advised to arrive early to ensure a good parking spot close by.
Falmouth Cricket Club, Falmouth
Monday 5th Nov
Come and enjoy a safe and professional firework display organised by Falmouth Fire Station. This spectacular display is also set to music so promises to be an all round sensory extravaganza the whole family will enjoy! Gates open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm sharp. Food, drinks and a whole range of other entertainment will be available for a family atmosphere. This does involve a short walk from the road, so wellies are advised!
Port Gaverne Beach, Port Isaac
Saturday 10th Nov
Port Gaverne’s bonfire night celebration will kick off with a children’s lantern procession along the beach at 6.30pm. At 7pm an impressive bonfire and fire sculpture display will be lit, with the grand fireworks display taking place at 7.15 pm. There will be a bbq and other delicious refreshments available, promising a great family atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Treknow Village Hall, Tintagel
Saturday 3rd Nov
Gather at 6pm to enjoy mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, followed by the lantern parade down to the Hall at 6.30 pm. The event then offers a spectacular family friendly firework display, with thousands of fireworks, three bars, two bbq’s and several covered areas in case of rain. The fireworks begin at 7.30 pm followed by music from a local band at 7.45pm. There’s also plenty of parking and a great friendly atmosphere guaranteed.
Tremorvah Playing Fields, Truro
Monday 5th Nov
Gates open at 5.30pm for this fantastic annual bonfire and fireworks display. The superb bonfire will be lit at 6pm, with the fireworks beginning at 6.30pm. This is a very family focussed event and as such will finish early at around 7pm. There will be plenty of delicious hot food on sale, along with stalls selling sparklers and glow-sticks to add to the bonfire night atmosphere.
There’s also a competition for children to build the best Guy – Judging for this will take place at 5.15pm by Truro’s Mayor.
